Liam Dwyer
Liam Dwyer who stepped down last month as Joint Manager of Chalfont St. Peter AFC has issued the following statement
"At the beginning of last month I resigned from my role as Joint Manager of Chalfont St Peter AFC. Due to
my wife being in hospital and the recent arrival of my daughter I had been unable to commit myself fully
to the role and I felt this was having a detrimental effect on the team's form. Having stepped away and
with the recent form I feel this decision has been for the best. I have always prided myself on being
someone who gives everything and who is fully committed, when this was no longer possible this was
the best thing to do for all involved.
I thoroughly enjoyed by time at Chalfont, it is a great club with even better people involved, However I am
enjoying having my first break away from the game for over a decade. I have taken away some incredible
memories and teachings which will hold me in good stead for the future. "Your eyes don't lie" being the
best lesson from the Chairman.
I would like to thank Denis, Ian, Chloe and all the committee and volunteers. I would like to thank the
coaching team of Chappy, Bela, Kennedy, Sam, Bradley and Travis. Alongside Tom and Will from the Devs
and Joe from the Under 18s' I wish the new supporting staff all the best within their rules moving
forward.
To Easty, a great friend on and off the pitch, thank you for your all support across our time together. We
have had some laughs alongside brilliant moments and I have gained so much working alongside you, l'd
also like to thank Finlay Johnson for all his support prior to us getting the role and his support during my
time at the club. I'd also like to thank Kieran and PSA for there assistance during this period.
I would like to thank Captain James and all the players during my tenure, it's been a pleasure. Last thanks
to the fans for there support and understanding.
I will be down to support soon, up the saints !
Chairman, Denis Mair said " “ Football throws up many many characters but very few can be referred to as ‘gentlemen’. In Liam's case I have no hesitation in calling him a ‘gentleman’, and his undeniable qualities as a human being will benefit all. We wish Liam and his new family every thing good that life has to offer."
