Having lost at home to Langford earlier in the season, Saints were looking for revenge in this match. Five goals in the first half hour warmed the hearts of the 45 spectators at the match. John Carroll put Saints ahead after just two minutes, Langford reacted swiftly though and equalised on 11 minutes. Charlie Stratton restored Saints lead just three minutes later and on 21 mins, John Carroll got his second of the afternoon. Charlie Strutton added his second on 31 minutes and just ten minutes into the second half scored his third to put Chalfont well and truly into the driving seat. Barry Brosnan added to the tally 11 minutes from the end and just two minutes later Danny Hughes scored his first and Chalfont's seventh. This victory, together with Tring losing and Aylesbury also dropping points, moves Saints up to second place in the league.

The next game fopr Saints is on Tuesday 2nd February at Hillingdon Borough, kick off 19:45!

Chalfont St. Peter Reserves went down 2-0 at home to Camberley and are fourth in the Suburban League Northern Division.

Saints go second

CHALFONT ST PETER (0) 1  HATFIELD TOWN (0) 0
Charlie Strutton 69m

Hatfield Town were the first opponents this season when Saints ran out
losers by the odd goal in a tough match. Todays match was not much different it was tough specially towards the end but Chalfont won this one by the odd goal. The Divisions hghest attendance watched this entertaining game.

With this victory, Saints go second in the league, although, similar to the position we were in last season, some teams have played up to five games less than us.

The recent heavy snows saw Saints suffer another blank weekend as their Premier Division fixture against leaders Aylesbury was postponed.

The next scheduled game is on Saturday 23rd January when Hatfield Town visit Mill Meadow. This will be only the second game in which Saints have managed to get on to the pitch in two months.

Saints remain in fourth spot while Hatfield sit in 15th place.

Saints took to the field for the first time in a month on Monday and came away from Hertford Town with all three points following a 2-0 victory.

Goals from Joe Brittain and Ben Stack did the damage, securing a third successive win and lifting Saints to fourth place in the table.

There are now back to back home games as Biggleswade Utd and Dunstable Town come to Mill Meadow.
